End Needle Selection

Automatic Stitch Patterning · Lesson 11 of 12

The importance of End needle Selection

For easier seaming and neater edges, prevent the end needles from patterning.

Having a tuck or slip stitch on the edge of the knitting distorts the edge.

Use this one little trick for neat edges.

End needle Selection on this machine

To prevent the end needles from patterning on this machine, move the Point cams 1-2 stitches from the edge of the knitting.

PLUS . . . .

Many stitch patterns recommend pulling the end needle next to the carriage all the way out to deal with the end needles. See each stitch technique description.
