Here are 4 accessories that are needed for automatic patterning.
We will discuss them in detail in the associated techniques sections.
Yarn Separators
If your yarn tangles with the round brushes under the carriage, try using the Yarn Separators on each side. This is especially recommended when knitting Fairisle.

Point Cams
Pattern knitting only happens between 2 point cams.
When setting Point cams at both edges of the knitting, the pattern will be knitted across the entire row. Needles outside of the point cams will not pattern.
When knitting isolated motif, position the point cam on each side of where you want the motif to knit, keeping the other sections in plain knitting.

Needle-1 Cam
The needle-1 (N-1) cams are NOT used with DesignaKnit
The red line of the Needle-1 cam tells the machine where to start and finish the pattern repeat.
Usually, the Needle-1 Cam is put at the center of the needlebed.
NOTE:
The Needle-1 Cam MUST be placed within the 2 point cams or at either Point Cam. Do not put it outside the Point Cams
