Almost magical, stitch patterning on this machine can happen in 2 ways:
EC1 / PE1 Pattern Controller
This course does not include instruction on using the EC1 device
DesignaKnit
Create and Integrate stitch patterns in DesignaKnit. Using Interactive knitting, DAK sends your pattern information to a "translator" SilverLink Box, which in turn send zeros and ones to your carriage instructing it to select and de-select needles.

Textured stitch patterns and multi-color patterns can all be quickly produced with the help of automatic patterning devices. These devices select needles.
